OmniFocus, a popular task app for iOS and macOS, was recently updated with support for new M1 Macs, and now, the macOS version of the app takes another step forward with an update that brings new. The Omni Group’s flagship GTD application, OmniFocus, received an update earlier today in its iPad version to include a number of new functionalities, bug fixes, and miscellaneous improvements to the interface. Widely regarded as the best version of OmniFocus currently available on all platforms, OmniFocus for iPad managed to win the hearts of The Omni. The bulk of this review occurs with the help of an OmniOutliner document on her iPad Pro. In the Outliner document are specific tasks to perform: some in Mail, OmniFocus, and elsewhere. The Outliner document is a checklist for the daily review but, additionally, also a launchpad.

The built-in Forecast perspective is a signature feature of OmniFocus. This plug-in provides a quick and easy way to gain access to this perspective without losing track of what you were working on. On the Mac, this perspective is opened in a new tab and on iPad, a new split-screen window is automatically created with the Forecast set to today. OmniFocus will make a randomly generated email address with your username—and you can add multiple addresses if you'd like. When you send an email to this address, OmniFocus will add a new task to your Inbox with the subject line as the task name and the body of the message as the note—including attachments and basic formatting.

When you visit our website, we don’t track any information about you or use analytics tools from third parties that would let them track you. The only thing we want to track is data about our own site and how well it’s is helping the people who visit it: so we keep some relatively basic, anonymized logs about visitors and usage, which are never associated with any visitor’s identity.

When you use our apps, there is really only one thing we need to know: whether you’ve licensed the app, or are simply using it for free (either as part of our free two-week demo, or as a free viewer once the demo expires). The best way for us to know whether you’ve licensed the app is for you to register a purchase with your Omni Account, so we can give you credit for that purchase no matter where you log in.

There are other ways we respect your privacy, such as using end-to-end encryption when you sync OmniFocus data through our servers. It’s super important to teams, critical in an enterprise, but just as important to an individual. You can learn about these approaches and more on our privacy page.

I could go on and on, and probably will in an upcoming Omni Show podcast. Apple’s support for privacy is not new, but the tangible step they’re taking in iOS 14.5 of asking for permission is meaningful—so this seemed like a great moment for us to articulate our support for the cause of protecting your privacy.

I just got the Ipad version but do not own a Mac, so the desktop version is unavailable for me.
In Things, there are 'Areas of Responsibility,' which is useful for me. I'm a lawyer and at any one time am juggling work on a number of discrete cases. In things, I defined each case is an area of responsibility, and in each area I have multiple projects.
I understand that in Omnifocus, the areas of responsibility feature does not exist, but I can duplicate it by creating a project for each 'area', and then subprojects for each of the projects in each area.
I've been playing around a bit and can't figure out how to create a subproject (a project within a project). I can create an item in the inbox and then promote it to a project. When I create a new item, I either assign it to a project or create a new project. But I cant figure out how to create a new project that is nestled within another project.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
